Frequently Asked Questions

01.

Q: Is it really necessary to fertilize?

A: Absolutely, In order to have a healthy lawn (or any healthy plant life, for that matter) you’ll need high soil quality. Using a fertilizer for your lawn is the best way to do so. Over time, your soil will naturally lose many of the important nutrients it needs to survive. If you really want that lush, green lawn, you’re going to need to replace them. Fertilizer replaces and replenishes the essentials your lawn needs for a great look.

02.

Q: How often should my property be mowed during growth seasons?

A: Mowing too little will result in overgrowth and encourage the spread of weeds.  Mow too much and the grass will become scorched and bare.  Therefore, mowing once a week, possibly twice during periods that experience high precipitation, will result in a beautiful, lush lawn.  Since mowing cuts the top part of the grass — the oldest part – it can help show off the youngest and freshest part of the grass.

03.

Q: Why should you aerate and when is the ideal time to do this?

A: Aeration involves perforating the soil with small holes to allow air, water, and nutrients to penetrate the grass roots. This helps the roots grow deeply and produce a stronger, more vigorous lawn. The main reason for aerating is to alleviate soil compaction.  Late spring aerating may be beneficial if the ground is extremely compacted, or if there is excessively thin turf. The very best time to aerate is in the fall when the temperatures have cooled off, when the weed pressure is minimal, and when grass is actively growing.
